class=\"inner-text__title\">Why should I fulfill a medical and dental questionnaire?<\/h2>\r\nYour health status is important for a dentist to the same degree as for a generalist. Without a complete picture of your medical history (medical and dental questionnaire) the dentist may not perform any treatment. Particularly important are such matters as usage of blood thinners, your heart conditions, facts of diabetes, HIV infection, and other types of infection. The patient and the dentist must ensure that the medical history always remains up-to-date.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"inner-text\">\r\n<h2 class=\"inner-text__title\">What is an OPT or OPG?<\/h2>\r\nA panoramic radiograph (also termed Panorex&#x2122;, a dental panoramic radiograph, orthopantomogram or Orthopantomograph&#x2122;, and sometimes abbreviated as PAN, DPR, OPT or OPG), is a panoramic dental X-ray scanning of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a two-dimensional view of a half-circle from ear to ear. It helps the dentist to assess the condition of the teeth and is made during the intake procedure. OPT provides information about bone loss (a periodontal disease, implants), the condition of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), root inflammation, issues with crowns and bridges and further details.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"inner-text\">\r\n<h2 class=\"inner-text__title\">Which health care insurance companies does your dental center have a contract with?<\/h2>\r\nWe work with all health care insurance companies in the Netherlands via the medical factoring company Infomedics. Infomedics handles all our bills directly and digitally with your health care insurance provider. You will receive from Infomedics only the bills that are not (fully) reimbursed by your insurance company. The patient receives from the dentist a written copy of the plan which contains the codes of the proposed treatments and an estimated amount of the treatment costs. It is important to note that the dentist does not know any details about the patient&#8217;s insurance. Therefore, it is critical that you as a patient contact your insurer and discuss whether the planned treatment will be compensated by the insurer fully or partly. We encourage you to communicate with your insurer, it helps to avoid unpleasant surprises for you and your family budget.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"inner-text\">\r\n<h2 class=\"inner-text__title\">What is compensated by my health care insurance?<\/h2>\r\nBitewings are small radiographs of the right and left side of the lateral teeth. Bitewings are very detailed pictures and often necessary for detection of defects.
